Justified and Zealous is a fitting name for a man of this Caliber. Being born into a broken home, crippled by drugs and deception, only aided in his family’s conversion to Christ, leaving nothing but praise for the Lord. He, Jamaine D. R. Herbert, having experienced the worst imaginable situations first hand, from being a foster child, to the loss of his mother to aids, now has a true reverence for the new life.
He states that he has been Justified in the eyes of God and is Zealous in the eyes of God and man. If you have had the pleasure of meeting him, you know this statement is true to his core. With the true heart of a servant, he seeks fresh and innovative ways to spread the gospel.

        You may see him as an emcee, however there is so much more to this man of God. He has been blessed with the spirit of evangelism, passed down through his father, who single handedly led almost all of his family to Christ. God has bestowed upon him the mantle of a public speaker and teacher, which was witnessed by The Harlem Tabernacle Church for the first time, in November of 2003. He shared the truth of God’s word through tangible message filled with fun,  laughter, and keen relevance without ever losing the power of profound revelation. Everyone in attendance can still be heard echoing excerpts of his messages, confirming they their lives have been impacted forever. Since then, he has spoken around the tri state area and across the country, as his compassion for souls, leads his life as a witness to people, with out a microphone.

        J.A.Z. is very critical when it comes to his flows, line patterns and over all feel of his words. Each verse spills from his mouth in a rhythmic collage of passion, Love, Faith, and Worship.  His speech is courageous, but humble, with his quick word play, and witty approach to song writing, he has been acclaimed as one of the finest HHH artists to ever grace the Mic.  He can be heard on a number of projects currently circling the hip-hop market. It is very likely that if you ask any Holy Hip-Hop fan about J.A.Z., they will not only know him, but will have been impacted by his ministry.

 

 

 

 

        Jamaine "J.A.Z." Herbert also has a keen eye for photography, and is a very skilled graphic artist.  He has started a Graphic Design business called “Zealous Graphics”, which has created and designed art work for many CD’s, DVD’s, Event flyers, Logos, and websites. Many well known businesses, and individual parties have requested his work and advice in promotion and marketing.

      
        He has also began to delve into the area of Production and studio work.  His distinct ear for sound  lead to the start of another division of ministry work and business. “Zealous Productions” has lead and aided in the completion of many great works of artistic sound available today.  A few are: “The Reach” mixtapes 1 and 2, “My Life” (JAZ) and “Tha Reason EP”.  Zealous Productions is currently working on at least four(4) new titles scedualed to release soon.  The vision for Zealous Productions, as brought to past through J.A.Z., is to continually be a resources to up and coming ministry minded artists who intend to affect their generation through the sound and movement of urban expression.

 

         “‘The Reach’ is more then a mixtape!” Those words set off a movement that has changed the Lives of Thousands of souls over the short time its been in existence.  A stage full of powerful ministers through Hip-Hop bringing the word consistently, all for the sake of the souls is surely a move of God. The Reach has graced many types of events and gatherings, including: Block parties, Outreaches, Churches, and Special events. Thousands of free cd’s and other gifts have been dispatched to kids around the tristate area. This movement is continually growing and expanding trough hard work and dedication to God’s word and purpose.

 

        Words cannot express the impact of J.A.Z.’s ministry on other’s lives. Through his words and lyrics, but most of all, his life, he proves that it is possible to defy all odds while humbly giving glory to the true victor "Christ the Anointed One."
